DESCRIPTION:GRASPING THE NETTLE: A TWO DAY FIBER WORKSHOP \nSunday\, August 17 & Monday\, August 18 | 3-5:30PM \n$80 per person/$70 per Museum Member \nLearn ways of working with Nettle as a fiber plant with local multi-media artist and fiber explorer Carla Klinker. Nettle has been used worldwide for generations as a fiber source for textiles. In this two-part class\, learn about its history and then get your hands on the raw material. Participants will harvest and process the plant to create cordage to take home. \nCarla will introduce a variety of ways of working with nettle fiber\, including harvesting times and techniques\, making cordage\, and integrating nettle thread into practical and artistic projects.
