DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free opening reception of the Pratt Museum’s summer 2023 special exhibit: “In a Time of Change: Boreal Forest Stories.”  \nThursday\, May 25 from 4-6 pm \nAt 5 pm\, there will be a talk by Mary Beth Leigh\, program director and professor at University of Alaska Fairbanks. \nThis reception is free and open to the public. \nThe exhibit will run through September 23\, 2023. \n“Boreal Forest Stories” is a cross-disciplinary\, collaborative project examining change in the\nboreal forest through narrative. SUMMARY:Nature Journaling for Kids
DESCRIPTION:Nature Journaling is a practice of creativity and curiosity that draws from our own experiences in the natural world. Join local artist Kim McNett to learn beginner-friendly field sketching and recording techniques that will strengthen your observation and appreciation of the natural world. This workshop is appropriate for children. Parents are welcome to attend and help supervise but will not be provided with journaling materials. \nWorkshops include a blank journal and use of all needed supplies at no extra cost. For additional supplies and activity prompts\, Kim’s handmade Nature Journal Kits will be available for purchase at the workshop for $40.  \nRegister here! \nSpace is limited!
